AyahFlow: questions and answers

This page answers the questions people most often have before installing our Quran and Salah app, made by us at BRUNIQO. The answers are based on the App Store description of version 1.0, the version available today. What is AyahFlow?

It is an app for iPhone and iPad, published as AyahFlow – Quran & Salah, that helps you build a calm daily rhythm around Quran reading, Salah, learning and private reflection. It combines an offline Quran reading foundation with prayer schedule tools, a Qibla direction, habit support, private notes and bookmarks.

Who makes AyahFlow?

AyahFlow is made by BRUNIQO, the developer name of Alessandro Brüning in Neuss, Germany. This website belongs to BRUNIQO as well, so the guides here describe our own app, and wherever we compare tools, AyahFlow is marked as our product.

Is AyahFlow free, and does it show ads?

Yes, AyahFlow is free to download and shows no ads. Version 1.0 contains no in-app purchases, so there is nothing to unlock or subscribe to in the current version.

Can I read the Quran offline?

Yes. AyahFlow includes an offline Quran reading foundation, so the text is available without a network connection. That makes the app practical on flights, on the subway, in rural areas and in prayer rooms with poor reception.

What does "offline reading foundation" mean?

It means the Quran text is available in the app without a network connection. You do not need a signal to open the text and keep reading, which keeps a daily routine independent of Wi-Fi and mobile data.

Other parts of the app work differently: the prayer schedule and the Qibla direction are estimates based on your settings and on your device's sensors, such as location and compass.

Do I need an account?

No account is required for reading. You can open the app and start reading without signing up or entering an email address.

What are bookmarks, notes and habits for?

Bookmarks let you return to a passage in seconds, private notes keep your reflections close to your reading, and habit support helps you keep a daily routine. Together they make it easier to read a little every day and pick up exactly where you left off.

How accurate are the prayer times?

They are estimates. AyahFlow works out the prayer schedule from your settings and your device's location, and the result can differ from your mosque's timetable because of calculation conventions, the Asr rule, caution minutes or high-latitude adjustments. Which calculation method does AyahFlow consider correct?

None. AyahFlow is not a religious authority and does not rule on which convention is correct. In any prayer calculator, the conventions for Fajr, Isha and Asr are settings with long scholarly discussions behind them, and the practical reference is the timetable of your local mosque or community.

How reliable is the Qibla direction?

The Qibla direction is an estimate based on your settings and your device's sensors, mainly its location and compass. Magnets in cases or car mounts, nearby metal and a compass that needs calibration can all shift the reading, so calibrate your phone, keep magnets away and compare the result with a nearby mosque. Is AyahFlow a religious authority?

No. AyahFlow is a tool for reading, planning and reflection. It does not issue rulings, interpret the Quran or decide questions of practice. For those, please turn to a qualified teacher, your imam or your local community.

Where can I download AyahFlow?

AyahFlow is currently available on the US App Store only. Other storefronts, including Germany, are not open yet, so an App Store account from another country cannot download the app until it opens in that storefront.

Which devices and system versions are supported?

AyahFlow runs on iPhone with iOS 18.0 or later and on iPad with iPadOS 18.0 or later. The download is about 10 MB, so it fits comfortably even on a phone that is short on space.

Which languages does the app use?

The app interface is available in Arabic, English and German. Translations of the Quran text come from published translation corpora.

Does AyahFlow include audio recitation?

The description of version 1.0 does not list audio recitation. AyahFlow focuses on reading, bookmarks, notes, habits, prayer schedule tools and the Qibla direction. If recitation audio is essential for you, for example for memorization, choose an app that lists it; the checklist in our comparison of Quran apps, linked in the first answer on this page, helps with that decision.

Why does AyahFlow ask me to verify prayer times and the Qibla locally?

Because both are estimates. Prayer times depend on conventions that communities choose, and a Qibla arrow depends on a phone compass that magnets and metal can disturb. Your local mosque has already made those decisions for its community, so a quick comparison with its timetable and its prayer direction is the most reliable check.

Can I use AyahFlow alongside my mosque's timetable?

Yes, and we recommend it. Use the mosque's timetable as the reference for when you pray, and use AyahFlow for reading, bookmarks, notes and habits, and as an estimate of the schedule when you are away from home. If the two differ, follow the mosque.

Is AyahFlow available for Android?

AyahFlow is an app for iPhone and iPad, distributed through Apple's App Store, and at the moment only in the United States.
