Skins and upgrades: spend coins after you can swim

Capybara Dash im App Store laden

Capybara Dash is our iPhone game: a chill capybara river endless runner, native SpriteKit 2.0. The shop is the wardrobe and the small toolkit. It is not the verb. The verb is still hold to dive, release to surface. Spend coins after you can swim a clean opening, not before. A hat will not open a corridor. A larger lung will not teach duration.

This page is the shop as a place you visit, not a sermon about flow and not a control tutorial. Fourteen skins. A short upgrade tree: air capacity, buoyancy, magnet range. Coins you pick up on the river. Daily and weekly missions if you like errands. A lucky wheel that is a spin, not a second career. No invented prices, no fake download counts, no “pro skin” that shrinks a hitbox.

Skins change the look

We ship fourteen skins. That number is a fact, not a teaser. On the native rebuild the animal can wear hats as hats, paddle, blink, exist as a pixel-art creature in golden hour instead of a sticker on a web canvas. The body underneath stays the body. Collision does not care about the outfit. You do.

A skin with a strong silhouette can help reading — high contrast against mangroves is a gift. A dark skin in a night-leaning biome is a dare. Equip for the light you are in, or equip because you like the animal. Both are legitimate. Equip because the shop felt lonely, and you have already left the river.

We will not claim a skin makes you faster. We will not invent an eighteenth hat to sound generous. Cosmetics are manners. If you came here from another capybara title in the store, those wardrobes are not this one. Ours is a river diver.

Upgrades change air, buoyancy, or magnet range

That is the tree we will name. Air capacity lets you stay under longer. It forgives a cluster. It does not replace a breath habit. If you cannot surface on purpose with the default lung, buy cosmetics after you can, not a tank you will still drown with.

Buoyancy is the feel of rise and sink — the match between what the thumb believes and what the body does. When the rise is late, people mash. Mashing is the wrong language. Buoyancy is a kindness to duration, not a new button.

Magnet range pulls nearby coins toward the line you were already swimming. It is for the good coin, the one on your corridor. It is not a licence to kiss a caiman for sparkle. If the magnet turns you into a tourist, ignore the far coin. Distance is the sentence. Coins are punctuation.

There is no fourth upgrade hiding behind a paywall we have not mentioned. There is no heal. There is no pay-to-win corridor. Free with ads; a one-time purchase removes the ads. Apple’s listing is the price. The river does not change either way.

Spend after you can swim

The first sessions are calibration. Hold versus release, air as a clock, the gap instead of the decoration. That craft lives on the one-thumb controls page — this page will not rebuild it. The shop is what you do when a handful of clean openings already exist.

A practical order:

Open the shop after a run that died for a reason you can name. Buy nothing on the first crash. Buy a skin when you want your eyes to stay on the animal. Buy air when clusters feel like sentences you almost finish. Buy buoyancy when the rise still surprises you. Buy magnet when good coins are fiddly, not when bad coins are tempting.

Missions and the wheel can wait until the commute is a sofa. They are optional errands. They are not the reason the capybara dives.

Coins are leftovers from the line

A good coin sits on the path you already chose. A bad coin sits behind a threat you were not going to kiss. The shop is fed by both, but the run is fed only by the first. Greed as a second sport has its own page: coins on the safe line. Here, one rule: do not bankrupt a run to dress a future run.

If you are short on coins, swim. The shop does not owe you a gift. We will not invent a drop rate. Collecting is a little yes on a line that was already true.

What the shop is not

Not a gacha RPG wearing a capybara hat. Not a crossing-the-road clone’s character roster. Not a battle pass with a calendar that shames you. Fourteen looks, three upgrades, coins, optional missions, a wheel. The seven biomes — golden river hour, mangroves, summer rain, sunset, blue hour with fireflies, rapids, lantern grotto — are the river restated in different light. You meet them by swimming, not by unlocking a world map with keys that do not exist.

The longer, softer argument about cosmetics and attention is the skins and flow-state blog. This page is the counter: spend late, spend small, swim first.

When the shop is closed in your head, the river is still there. That is the whole point of a chill runner that still ends. The wardrobe waits. The toolkit waits. The thumb does not.

Missions and the wheel sit to the side

Daily and weekly missions give the week a few errands if you like errands. They are not a season pass. They do not unlock a biome with a key. They do not require a skin you have not earned. If a mission asks you to collect coins, it is still asking you to swim; it is not asking you to wreck a line for a quota. Refuse the bad coin. The errand can wait until a good coin sits in the gap.

The lucky wheel is a spin. Treat it like a spin. Do not build an evening around it. Do not treat a skin from the wheel as a sign that the shop is the game. The game is still the river in golden hour, mangroves, rain, sunset, blue hour, rapids, grotto.

If missions make the commute feel like a chore list, ignore them. The shop still works. Distance still works. Game Center still takes a number if you want a number. Optional means optional.

Reading the shop without a trailer

Open it when you have a table, not when the station is in the next breath. Buy one thing. Close it. Swim. A shop session that lasts longer than a run is a different hobby bolted onto a runner. The chill capybara can wear a hat. It should not stand in a menu until the kettle boils dry.

We will not list a price for a skin or an upgrade. Coins are the currency we named. Ads are on the free path; a purchase removes ads, not a paywall around the tree. If Apple’s listing shows something else tomorrow, the listing is the source. This page does not invent a catalogue.

Fourteen looks. Three upgrades. Swim first. That order is the shop.
